Investing in your Child's future

Wellspring works to make our leading weight loss program as affordable as possible for families.

Health Insurance Reimbursement

Often, the behavioral therapy in our program is covered by insurance. At the end of each month, your child's Behavioral Coach will submit a statement for that month's therapy sessions to your health insurance. These statements will come from the therapists and will be coded for the behavioral issues most commonly diagnosed at Wellspring. The two most common diagnoses are depression and eating disorder.

Families with PPO plans are more likely to receive reimbursement for a portion of Wellspring's clinical program; those families with HMOs generally should not expect to receive reimbursement.

Medical Tax Deduction

On April 2, 2002, the IRS announced a new policy (IRS Ruling 202-19) stating that "Obesity is medically accepted to be a disease in its own right." For taxpayers, this means that treatment specifically for weight loss can now be claimed as a medical deduction following a referral from a physician.
